Lisa Sanders was born and raised in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and is proud to have headquartered her family's practice there today. After graduating from Harvard University in three years with a Bachelor's in Government, Lisa traveled south to U.T. for law school. She first began to gain experience in government contract law at a private firm in San Antonio.

Lisa moved to D.C. in the late 1980s, where she became an attorney at the reputed Beltway firm Spriggs & Hollingsworth, specializing in government contracts. In 1992, Lisa became General Counsel for the non-profit organization Experience Works (formerly Green Thumb), which provides training and employment search services to the elderly.

In 1998, Lisa left work in D.C. to join her husband Norman at his private practice in Upper Marlboro. In 2006, she was nominated and sworn in to the United States Supreme Court Bar Association.

Lisa is an active member of her community; she and Norman have three children, all of whom are graduates or current students of the Calvert County Public School system. Lisa has served as a member of the Calvert County Board of Appeals, the Calvert & St. Mary's Judicial Nominating Commission, the Calvert County Commission on Women, and the Citizens' Advisory Committee to the Calvert County Board of Education. She is a member and previous board member of the Calvert Minority Business Alliance.
